The Room Divider
The Room Divider functions nothing like a typical room divider.
The design plays with the placement of double-sided mirror panels, assembled at
specific angles, that together play with the perception of the space behind it.
Though the mirrored panels can certainly reflect an image accurately, as a room
divider they serve as a semi-private separation consisting of mirrors that will
reflect and distort the true images of the space. There are slim openings intended to loosely
direct the path of the viewer by teasing and disorienting them as they walk
through the exhibit. The viewer chose which direction to take towards the
second object which was centered in the space as well. Here are images of design development and process pictures of the installation at the exhibit space.
